In a recent discussion, Benny Lakunishok, co-founder and CEO of Zero Networks, shed light on the evolving landscape of cybersecurity, particularly the imperative for organizations to adapt to artificial intelligence (AI) challenges. According to Lakunishok, the company’s artificial intelligence segmentation tool provides a significant upgrade in security protocols by automatically discovering AI agents, tracking their communications, and permitting system administrators to impose restrictions on their access rights.

"This containment-driven mindset is essential," stated Lakunishok. "You can’t outrun AI, but you need to out-architect it. With complete micro-segmentation, lateral movement—where threats can move laterally across systems—becomes nearly impossible."

AI can accelerate lateral movement within networks, creating challenges for traditional security tools that were designed with older threats in mind. One of the prominent issues discussed was the emerging visibility challenges created by platforms like Kubernetes. These modern orchestration tools are increasingly being adopted across industries for managing containerized applications. However, they also complicate the visibility that traditional security measures can provide, indicating that organizations need to be more innovative in their approaches to security.
