Filigran Unveils Speaker Line-Up for THREAD Cyber Defence Event in Paris

Filigran, a notable entity in the realm of cyber defence and threat intelligence, has recently announced the lineup of speakers for its inaugural annual event, THREAD. Scheduled to take place in Paris on the 15th of October, this gathering is poised to serve as a pivotal meeting point for professionals within the cyber defence community. The event, held at Les Jardins de Saint-Dominique, is free of charge and is designed to blend strategic discussions with hands-on experiences tailored to address current challenges in threat intelligence, exposure management, and cyber resilience.

The excitement surrounding THREAD is palpable, particularly due to the diverse and reputable roster of speakers set to present. Key participants include representatives from Accenture, Centrica, Thales Group, and the FBI. This convergence of experts aims to foster insightful dialogue while equipping attendees with practical knowledge that they can implement within their own organizations. The morning sessions will feature presentations and discussions, setting the stage for the more interactive afternoon tracks.

As the day progresses, the focus will shift to cyber threat intelligence (CTI) and computer emergency response team (CERT) practitioners from esteemed companies like Dassault Systèmes, Hermès, and Richemont. These practitioners will delve into their unique approaches and share their experiences tackling cyber threats. According to Filigran, the event aims to provide attendees with hands-on labs and community-led workshops, reinforcing the collaborative spirit at the core of Filigran’s open-source platforms. Participants will not only hear from industry leaders but also engage with one another, contributing connectors and sharing playbooks to aid in evolving product development.

Samuel Hassine, the CEO and co-founder of Filigran, highlighted the importance of community in cyber defence. “Defenders get ahead when they share what they see,” Hassine remarked. He underscored that the collaboration among public organizations, corporations, and practitioners has been instrumental from the inception of OpenCTI and OpenAEV. THREAD acts as a synergistic platform, uniting these stakeholders to compare effective strategies and collectively influence the future direction of cyber defence tools and methodologies.

Among the event’s highlights is the “Build Your Own Agent” lab, where participants will have the opportunity to utilize the XTM One agent wizard. This interactive session will enable attendees to transform their existing workflows into AI agents capable of performing critical tasks, such as triaging threat reports and converting intelligence into actionable attack scenarios. This innovative approach aims to illustrate how agentic AI can significantly enhance continuous threat exposure management (CTEM).

In tandem with these dynamic sessions, Filigran is set to unveil the beta programme for OpenCRQ, a cyber risk quantification module integrated into its XTM Platform. This platform is designed to connect various elements of cyber defence—threat intelligence via OpenCTI, exposure validation through OpenAEV, and cyber risk quantification utilizing OpenCRQ. The core of this integrated solution is housed in the XTM One system, streamlining the process of managing cyber risks effectively.

The THREAD programme caters specifically to cyber threat intelligence analysts, security operations teams, and practitioners from red, blue, and purple team backgrounds. Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) will have the unique opportunity to participate in closed-door, off-the-record roundtables tailored to address industry-specific themes. These discussions will cover pertinent topics such as CTEM, the NIS2 directive, and the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), ensuring that attendees are well-versed in the latest regulatory landscapes impacting their organizations.

Another key feature of THREAD is the Community Zone, where attendees can interact directly with Filigran’s teams. This area will provide an avenue for participants to discuss current and future product roadmaps, as Filigran openly publishes its roadmap and encourages user input on which features to prioritize.

For those interested in attending this unique convergence of cyber defence expertise, spaces can be requested through the THREAD event website. As the date approaches, the anticipation for THREAD grows, promising a day filled with learning, networking, and collaboration among the cybersecurity community.

The post detailing Filigran’s announcement can be found on IT Security Guru, emphasizing the significance of THREAD in the ongoing dialogue surrounding cybersecurity practices and innovation.
