The HackerOne Ambassador World Cup 2023 has kicked off with a bang, offering an eight-month competition that aims to foster community engagement, collaboration, and increase awareness of the ambassador brand within the hacker community. Led by HackerOne Brand Ambassadors, the AWC invites teams of hackers from around the globe to identify impactful vulnerabilities in participating customer programs such as Epic Games, OpenSea, Shopify, Stripe, and Yahoo.

Throughout each round of the competition, the customer programs involved will experience a surge in new hacker engagement, driving high-signal traffic to their approved scopes. This dedicated focus from some of the world’s top hackers is designed to enhance the programs’ attack resistance measures. Additionally, participating programs will have the opportunity to deepen their connection with the global hacker community, forge essential partnerships, and build lasting relationships that extend beyond the competition.

The 2023 AWC boasts 29 participating clubs, each spearheaded by HackerOne Brand Ambassadors who have brought together the best hackers in regional teams from across the world. Last year’s winners, the Bordeaux HackerOne Club from France, the Haryana HackerOne Club from India, and the Santiago HackerOne Club from Chile, set the bar high, and anticipation is building to see which clubs will clinch the top three spots in 2023.

The competition features five elite enterprise programs, including Epic Games, OpenSea, Shopify, Stripe, and Yahoo, all of which have a stellar track record in bug bounty program success. These programs are renowned for their industry leadership and bring a wealth of diversity to the AWC with their challenging scopes and hardened attack surfaces.

Keri Kusznir, Manager of Application Security Engineering at Shopify, emphasized the company’s commitment to merchant safety and trust, stating, “The AWC is another way for Shopify to ensure we take every step possible to boost our security and increase our attack resistance.”

The schedule of events for the AWC is packed with exciting milestones, culminating in the Round 1 Winner Announcements on April 14. Hacker enthusiasts are encouraged to stay updated on the latest developments and be ready to witness the impressive skills of the participating teams.

The event not only showcases the prowess of hackers but also underscores the power of collaboration in the cybersecurity realm. By working together, hackers and companies can enhance security measures, leading to improved protection for businesses and financial rewards for hackers.

As the AWC gains momentum, the hacker community is gearing up for a thrilling competition that promises to push the boundaries of cybersecurity and pave the way for greater collaboration and innovation in the industry. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to witness the best hackers in action as they battle it out for the coveted AWC Championship title.
