Delinea, a leading provider of identity security solutions through centralized authorization, made headlines today as it was officially authorized by the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE®) Program to become a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA).

The CVE Program’s primary goal is to uncover, define, and document publicly disclosed cybersecurity vulnerabilities. CNAs play a crucial role in assigning CVE Identifiers (CVE IDs) to vulnerabilities and creating detailed information about these vulnerabilities in CVE Records. Each CNA has a specific area of responsibility for identifying and publishing vulnerabilities. By joining the CVE Program as a CNA, Delinea is proud to be part of a global community-driven initiative with over 420 partners from 40 countries.

As a CNA, Delinea now has the authority to review and assign CVE IDs to newly discovered zero-day vulnerabilities in its software products. This accreditation will allow Delinea to promptly establish new CVEs, simplify the reporting process, and strengthen collaboration within the cybersecurity industry.

Phil Calvin, Chief Product Officer at Delinea, expressed his enthusiasm about the company’s involvement in the CVE Program. He emphasized how critical it is to collaborate with the cybersecurity community to address emerging threats and enhance cybersecurity measures. Calvin highlighted that identity security is increasingly becoming the first line of defense in cybersecurity and that Delinea’s participation in the program will ensure their solutions remain at the forefront of the market.

Delinea is known for providing an advanced identity security platform that enables organizations to effectively manage interactions across the modern enterprise by leveraging intelligent authorization. Their approach, which incorporates context and intelligence throughout the identity lifecycle, helps mitigate threats and enhance productivity.

The CVE Program is backed by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and is overseen by the MITRE Corporation in collaboration with international stakeholders from various sectors. This international effort allows for the discovery, assignment, and publication of vulnerabilities on the CVE List, which is maintained by CNAs like Delinea.

The utilization of CVE Records is instrumental in ensuring that IT and cybersecurity professionals are on the same page when discussing vulnerabilities, enabling them to prioritize and address issues efficiently, ultimately leading to significant time and cost savings.

In conclusion, Delinea’s authorization as a CVE Numbering Authority underscores their commitment to enhancing cybersecurity measures and collaborating with the global cybersecurity community to tackle emerging threats effectively. By becoming a CNA, Delinea is poised to make valuable contributions to the CVE Program and reinforce their position as a leader in identity security solutions.
