Lucknow: The initiative to curb cybercrimes in Uttar Pradesh has gained momentum as Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) steps up to provide assistance to the state government in this endeavor. The university, located in Lucknow, has been selected among 52 universities in the country by the electronics and engineering department of the government of India for this crucial task.

AKTU has secured a grant of Rs 65 lakh from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for a period of five years to carry out this project. The dean of academics at AKTU, AK Sharma, has been appointed as the principal investigator for this significant initiative. The primary objective of AKTU is to enhance education and training for students, faculty, school teachers, government personnel, and the general public on cyber hygiene, cyber safety, and cyber security.

“We have divided Uttar Pradesh into eight zones and will be conducting awareness campaigns zone-wise to train highly skilled and certified cyber security professionals, nurture students for product/solution development in cyber security, strengthen research and education, and raise awareness among the masses about cyber hygiene,” stated Sharma.

The awareness drive initiated by AKTU commenced with a session on cyber security tips by police officials. ADG cybercrime BK Singh enlightened students and teachers on preventive measures to ensure cyber safety. As part of the awareness campaign, an ISEA poster, handbook, and stickers were also launched to disseminate information on cyber security.

The training and infrastructure development undertaken by AKTU aim to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to combat the rising instances of cyber crimes. With the increasing reliance on technology in various aspects of life, it has become imperative to safeguard data and information from potential threats posed by cyber criminals.

The assistance provided by AKTU to the state government underscores the collaborative efforts required to address the challenges posed by cyber crimes effectively. By leveraging technology and expertise, AKTU is committed to creating a safer cyber environment for all stakeholders, including children, students, women, parents, teachers, government officials, and the general public.

The proactive measures taken by AKTU in curbing cyber crimes reflect the university’s commitment to promoting digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness among the masses. As technology continues to advance rapidly, it is essential for individuals and organizations to stay vigilant and proactive in safeguarding against cyber threats.

In conclusion, AKTU’s initiative to assist the state government in curbing cyber crimes is a commendable step towards ensuring a secure digital ecosystem for all residents of Uttar Pradesh. Through collaborative efforts and sustained awareness campaigns, AKTU is paving the way for a more resilient and secure cyber infrastructure in the state.

With the increasing digitization of services and information, the need for robust cybersecurity measures has never been more critical. AKTU’s efforts in this regard serve as a shining example of how institutions can play a pivotal role in safeguarding against cyber threats and ensuring a safe and secure digital environment for all.
