WatchGuard Technologies, a well-known unified cybersecurity provider, has introduced a groundbreaking product called FireCloud Internet Access, the first of its kind in a series of hybrid secure access service edge (SASE) products. According to WatchGuard, FireCloud is specifically designed to cater to the needs of hybrid organizations and their partners by offering consistency across Fireboxes and FireCloud with almost identical configurations and a minimal learning curve.

In the realm of real-world cybersecurity, managing hybrid networks that combine traditional on-premises setups with cloud/firewall-as-a-service environments is crucial. Unfortunately, many SASE solution providers overlook the integration of on-premises environments, resulting in fragmented systems managed separately, leading to unnecessary complexity and overhead. This is where FireCloud Internet Access steps in to bridge the gap for hybrid environments, integrating seamlessly with WatchGuard Cloud and sharing unified policy management with Firebox. This integration offers a robust level of protection without the added complexity.

Andrew Young, the Chief Product Officer at WatchGuard, emphasized the importance of FireCloud Internet Access in addressing the evolving cybersecurity challenges faced by businesses today. As remote and distributed work environments become more prevalent and companies transition to the cloud, the need for enhanced security measures grows. Young highlighted that existing solutions fall short in enabling security teams to manage network security alongside their SASE deployments smoothly, creating security gaps and management complexities. This is where the new hybrid SASE approach, starting with FireCloud Internet Access, comes into play.

FireCloud Internet Access boasts several unique features that set it apart from other solutions in the market. These include its design tailored for hybrid environments, ease of deployment, flexible and scalable licensing and pricing, and integration into WatchGuard’s threat detection and response platform. The SASE architecture of WatchGuard is meticulously crafted to deliver value and benefits to hybrid environments, offering easier management, consistent security controls, and cost-effective solutions for lean IT teams and managed service providers.

WatchGuard is committed to providing a comprehensive SASE solution that meets the unique needs of its partners and their clients. The FireCloud family of solutions will continue to expand, covering private access, SD-WAN, ZTNA, and CASB solutions, accompanied by integrations with ThreatSync+ and the upcoming WatchGuard Universal Agent. This holistic approach underscores WatchGuard’s dedication to empowering MSPs with powerful cybersecurity solutions tailored to their specific requirements.

The recent acquisition of ActZero further solidifies WatchGuard’s position in the cybersecurity landscape, accelerating MDR growth for MSP partners and extending their sales reach. With a string of accolades from various IT awards and recognition programs, WatchGuard continues to lead the industry in security innovation, offering scalable solutions that drive revenue for MSPs.

In conclusion, the unveiling of FireCloud Internet Access by WatchGuard marks a significant milestone in the realm of cybersecurity solutions for hybrid environments. With a focus on providing powerful yet easy-to-implement security measures, WatchGuard is setting a new standard for SASE solutions, empowering organizations to navigate the evolving threat landscape effectively.
