In a recent series of review meetings, Director General of Police (DGP) Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao highlighted the importance of utilizing technology to combat crime in the State. The DGP, during separate meetings with police officials of Kurnool and Nandyal districts, stressed the need for visible policing and the prevention of cybercrimes.

Addressing the media after the meetings, Mr. Tirumala Rao urged police officials to prioritize visible policing as a means to deter criminal activities. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of preventing cybercrimes through the use of advanced technological tools and strategies.

One of the key directives issued by the DGP was the formation of special investigative teams to handle cases of sexual crimes against minors and women. He underscored the importance of conducting thorough investigations using a combination of scientific technology and limited manpower to expedite the process and ensure justice for the victims.

Mr. Tirumala Rao commended the decrease in crime rates across the State but reiterated the need for continued vigilance and proactive measures to maintain public safety. He mentioned the deployment of drones and CCTV cameras for surveillance purposes, as well as the enhancement of the fingerprints unit to aid in the investigation of criminal cases.

The use of technology in policing has become increasingly essential in today’s digital age, with law enforcement agencies leveraging various tools to enhance their capabilities and effectiveness. By incorporating drones, CCTV cameras, and other technological advancements into their operations, police forces can improve their response times, gather crucial evidence, and deter criminal activities.

Moreover, the emphasis on scientific technology in criminal investigations reflects a growing trend towards data-driven approaches to law enforcement. By utilizing advanced forensic techniques and tools, police officials can gather and analyze evidence more effectively, leading to more successful convictions and ultimately, a safer community for all residents.

As the State continues to prioritize the prevention and reduction of crime, the role of technology in policing will only become more crucial. With the support and guidance of leaders like DGP Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, law enforcement agencies can harness the power of technology to create a safer and more secure environment for all citizens.
