The All India Football Federation (AIFF) recently made headlines after lodging a formal complaint with the Cyber Crime Unit of the Delhi Police over allegations of data leakage. This move came in response to reports in the media about a breach of confidential information related to AIFF employees. The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the AIFF took action by convening a meeting at the Football House to investigate the matter further.

During the meeting, the ICC examined the alleged breaches of confidentiality and IT policies but determined that the issue did not fall within its jurisdiction. Instead, the committee recommended that the AIFF take prompt action to address all types of breaches, including those related to confidentiality, in order to protect the rights of its employees.

In response to these developments, the AIFF officially filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Unit of the Delhi Police on Tuesday, May 7. The organization has expressed its full cooperation with the authorities and is hopeful for a positive resolution following the completion of the investigation.

M Satyanarayan, the Acting Secretary General of the AIFF, reiterated the organization’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of its staff. He emphasized, “We are fully committed to upholding the integrity and confidentiality of all our staff members whom we keep in high regard. In light of the complaint received, we are doing everything to take things to a logical conclusion. Apart from the ICC meeting, we have already filed an official complaint with the Cyber Crime Unit of the Delhi Police who have assured us of all help to get to the root of the problem at the earliest.”

The AIFF’s decision to take action against the alleged data leakage highlights the organization’s commitment to safeguarding the privacy and rights of its employees. By involving the Cyber Crime Unit of the Delhi Police in the investigation, the AIFF is signaling its dedication to addressing potential cybersecurity threats and ensuring accountability for any breaches of data security.

As the investigation moves forward, the AIFF will continue to cooperate with law enforcement authorities and take necessary steps to prevent future incidents of data leakage. The organization’s proactive approach underscores its commitment to maintaining transparency and upholding ethical standards in its operations.

Overall, the AIFF’s response to the allegations of data leakage demonstrates its prioritization of employee welfare and data security. By taking swift and decisive action, the organization is sending a strong message that it will not tolerate any compromise on the integrity and confidentiality of its staff members. The outcome of the investigation will be eagerly awaited as the AIFF works towards resolving this issue and strengthening its cybersecurity measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
