The organisers behind DTX Manchester 2023, the largest digital and IT transformation event in the North, have unveiled exciting details for this year’s event. Taking place on 17th and 18th May at Manchester Central, the event will feature talks from local tech leaders, innovators, and representatives from several major industries.

One of the most anticipated talks will come from the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, who will deliver closing remarks on day one. Burnham will provide a preview of the city’s refreshed digital blueprint for 2023-26, highlighting new strategic commitments to put people, environment and place at the heart of an ambitious plan for the next three years. Burnham will discuss how Manchester is using technology and data to ensure a greener, fairer and more prosperous city region.

Rachel Anne Jones, Chief Information Officer at HMRC, will be discussing the importance of a sustainable, value-driven, and people-first digital strategy to enable the enterprise of the future. Jones will be joined by Tara McGeehan at CGI, Phil Swan at Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), and Steve Young at Dell Technologies to share insights on how to empower teams to try unusual ideas to deliver the exceptional results needed to stay ahead of competitors.

As AI and ML continue to evolve, senior representatives from the Financial Times, General Electric, and Microsoft will come together to discuss the current capabilities of AI and ML, the impact and implementation of the technology on organisations at present, and what is on the horizon.

Jake Moore, Global Security Advisor from cyber security brand ESET, will be sharing the fascinating story of how he managed to hack his way into a new job and gain full access to the organisation’s data within. Jake uses his creative tale to highlight the increasing risk that insider threat poses to business and how to stay ahead of your next threat.

Director of Business Operations at Groupon, Adam Lindsey, will be exploring the evolution of Conversation, AI, and chatbots at the organisation and some lessons learnt, along the way. After almost a decade of trial and error, Lindsey will share with the DTX Manchester audience how Groupon has begun to successfully embrace these technologies as agent companions, rather than substitutes, to deliver exceptional customer experience.

Kuldip Sandhu, IT Director of Clarion Events, is set to host a discussion with leaders from Lloyds Banking Group, Grant Thornton and Okta, addressing the disconnect between a cloud migration strategy and reality. The panel will explore how IT teams can determine which data and applications can and should move to the Cloud, whilst also managing the myriad of platforms and applications in a multi-cloud, multi-vendor environment.

DWP Digital will take to the stage to share how they have built a radically different workspace for their employees. As the role and function of the office continues to evolve, DWP Digital has seen the true value of research, testing, and redesign when trying to create a seamless workplace experience.

Several industry giants have already stepped in to share case studies on leading innovation projects across the North including Foot Asylum, Sykes Cottages, Slater & Gordon, Newcastle Building Society, Linklaters, Handelsbanken, Co-Op, Jaguar Land Rover, Department for Work & Pensions, AJ Bell, PwC, On the Beach, and National Grid. The event is sponsored by key northern partner associations including Manchester Digital, MIDAS, Northcoders, techUK, pro-manchester, Cyber Security Unity, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Tech Returners and Code First Girls.

Head of Research & Portfolio Development for DTX Natasha Taylor stated: “Manchester is a world-leading hub of technology and innovation, which makes it the perfect place to host the biggest digital transformation and IT event the North has ever seen.”

At the event, Dell, AWS, Okta, Ring Central, Blue Jeans, Threatlocker, Slalom Build, Sophos, Intel, Sentinel One, and Gamma will showcase tools needed to power a digital future. Register free now for DTX Manchester 2023.
