Data security software provider Baffle has launched Baffle Manager 2.0, an upgraded user interface that automates data protection for various applications, analytics, and AI. According to a press statement by the company, the interface upgrade aims to simplify application-level encryptions, which were previously difficult and time-consuming with legacy systems.

Ameesh Divatia, co-founder and CEO at Baffle, described Baffle Manager 2.0 as a single platform that allows users to create and manage data protection policies across the cloud, legacy, and third-party applications. The upgrade ensures that organizations stay at the forefront of new AI initiatives.

One of the key features of Baffle Manager 2.0 is the implementation of representational state transfer (REST) APIs. These APIs enable automation, allowing organizations to configure, manage, and monitor various data protection services such as key management, encryption, tokenization, and masking. The REST API architecture is designed for networked applications and facilitates stateless communication between different software systems. Baffle customers can use these APIs to leverage the findings of a data security posture management tool, which identifies sensitive data that needs protection and creates encryption and role-based access control policies.

Furthermore, Baffle Manager 2.0 includes new automation tools such as a secrets store, certificates store, and Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication. These tools simplify deployment and enterprise integration, enabling the platform to fully automate every action. Divatia highlighted that Baffle Manager is the only solution that allows organizations to manage critical data protection at the field or record-level granularity. As organizations increasingly move to the cloud and anticipate a data explosion with the next generation of data-intensive AI workflows, having granular control over data protection implementation and management while ensuring scalability will be essential.

In addition to the automation tools, version 2.0 of Baffle Manager introduces multiregional and multitenant support. This provides better resiliency and recovery from regional failures on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and offers individual keys for record-level and database-level encryption for each tenant.

Baffle Manager 2.0 is available at no additional cost to new and existing customers. New users will have immediate access to the upgraded interface upon deployment, while existing customers can choose when to upgrade to the latest release. This ensures that customers can benefit from the enhanced features and automation capabilities at their own pace.

With the release of Baffle Manager 2.0, Baffle aims to revolutionize data protection for enterprises by providing a comprehensive and user-friendly platform. The upgrade not only simplifies application-level encryptions but also enhances automation, control, and scalability. By embracing REST APIs and integrating new automation tools, Baffle aims to cater to the evolving needs of organizations in an increasingly data-driven and cloud-based environment.
