Bhopal has become the center of attention as Shubhank Singhai, a young teenager, has made headlines by becoming the youngest certified ethical hacker in the world. At just 15 years, 9 months, and 9 days old, Shubhank cleared the rigorous EC Council examination in a record-breaking 20 minutes. This incredible feat has earned him a spot in the Golden Book of World Records, surpassing the previous record set by Parth Gupta of Ahmedabad almost a decade ago.
Shubhank’s journey to becoming a certified ethical hacker began during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 when he was introduced to the world of computer hacking. With a new laptop for his online classes, he delved into the realm of ethical hacking, intrigued by the concept of hackers assisting companies in identifying vulnerabilities in their software systems. This fascination with ethical hacking led Shubhank to explore online courses and enroll in a program offered by an institute in Ahmedabad.
In a recent interview with ETV Bharat, Shubhank shared his early experiences, saying, “I remember I was in Class 6 when the lockdown was imposed. Online classes began and my parents bought me a laptop. It was during this time that I became curious about hacking and began ethical hacking.” His dedication and passion for ethical hacking propelled him to take the CEH exam conducted by the EC Council of Mexico, where he emerged victorious as the youngest certified ethical hacker in the world.
Ethical hackers like Shubhank play a crucial role in ensuring the security of software systems by identifying and fixing bugs. Companies often hire ethical hackers to test their systems and improve security measures to prevent cybercriminals from exploiting any weaknesses. Shubhank has already made significant contributions by uncovering bugs in the software of major companies like Google, Spotify, Nettleby, and the Computer Society of India (CSI).
Shubhank’s achievements extend beyond his record-breaking certification as a certified ethical hacker. He is currently a student in class 10 at St Joseph School in Bhopal, where he balances his academic pursuits with his passion for cybersecurity. In addition to his CEH certification, Shubhank is pursuing advanced certifications in cybersecurity, such as the CIOC certification from Demisto Technology in Ahmedabad, and the OACP course in ethical hacking.
Having already received accolades like the CIACH title and CEH certification from the EC Council of Mexico, Shubhank’s accomplishments have earned him a place in India’s IBR Achiever Book Record. Despite his young age, Shubhank’s dedication to ethical hacking and cybersecurity has set him apart as a rising star in the field, showcasing his remarkable skills and potential for future success.
In a world where cybersecurity plays an increasingly vital role, Shubhank Singhai’s achievements serve as a testament to the importance of ethical hacking in safeguarding digital systems and information. With his record-breaking certification and ongoing commitment to enhancing his skills, Shubhank is poised to make even greater contributions to the field of cybersecurity in the years to come.
