Bridewell receives NCSC accreditation for CHECK penetration testing

In a recent announcement, UK cyber security firm Bridewell revealed that it has received accreditation from the Government’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to provide CHECK penetration testing services to government, public sector bodies, and organizations under the country’s critical national infrastructure (CNI).

CHECK-authorised penetration tests on CNI systems and networks are carried out by verified companies using NCSC-recognized methods and by staff who hold NCSC-approved qualifications. These tests are crucial for assessing the security of sensitive government, public sector, and CNI systems, especially in light of recent cyber attacks such as the one faced by The Electoral Commission. Conducting rigorous and regular penetration testing helps to ensure the general public’s trust and keeps sensitive data safe from malicious hackers.

James Smith, Head of Offensive Security at Bridewell, highlighted the importance of becoming a CHECK provider to meet the needs of existing and new HMG customers. He stated, “We deemed it essential that we become a CHECK provider to ensure that our existing and new HMG customers receive a high-quality, industry-backed penetration service to identify any weaknesses in their systems. We’re pleased to have achieved this alongside our existing NCSC assurances for Cyber Security Consultancy and Cyber Incident Response.”

Bridewell’s alignment with NCSC accreditations, including NCSC Assured Cyber Security Consultancy services in Audit and Review and Risk Management, reflects the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive cyber security solutions. By obtaining these accreditations, Bridewell can protect highly regulated and critical infrastructure organizations globally. Some examples of its work include Gwent Police, Manchester Airport Group, and the UK Census 2021.

With Bridewell as an assured company, critical infrastructure organizations can rely on the company’s expertise to conduct CHECK penetration tests. The company provides detailed reports and recommendations, adhering to the highest industry standards. This comprehensive approach helps organizations identify vulnerabilities and strengthen their security measures.

By receiving accreditation from the National Cyber Security Centre, Bridewell has solidified its position as a leading cyber security firm in the UK. Its expertise and experience provide reassurance to government, public sector bodies, and critical infrastructure organizations, safeguarding against potential cyber threats.

Penetration testing is a crucial aspect of cyber security, as it helps organizations identify any weaknesses in their systems before they can be exploited by hackers. With governments and critical infrastructure increasingly becoming targets of cyber attacks, the need for certified and trusted penetration testing providers like Bridewell has never been greater. As cyber threats continue to evolve, it is essential for organizations to prioritize the security of their systems and networks to protect sensitive data and maintain public trust.
