Check Point Software Set to Launch First Asia-Pacific R&D Centre in Bengaluru, India

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. has revealed its intentions to establish the first Asia-Pacific Research and Development (R&D) Centre in Bengaluru, India, as part of its efforts to drive innovation in cybersecurity solutions and enhance global product development. This announcement was made during the CPX Bangkok 2025 conference, highlighting the company’s commitment to leveraging India’s growing technology ecosystem.

The decision to set up the Bengaluru centre underscores Check Point’s recognition of India as a global powerhouse in the tech industry and a hub for top-tier cybersecurity talent. Ruma Balasubramanian, President of APAC & Japan at Check Point, emphasized the significance of this expansion, stating, “India is a global technology powerhouse, and our new R&D Centre in Bengaluru reflects our deep commitment to harnessing top-tier cyber security talent from the region.”

The establishment of the new centre not only expands Check Point’s operational footprint but also paves the way for advanced security innovations that will benefit customers worldwide. This move further solidifies India’s position as a key player in global cybersecurity and digital innovation.

The Bengaluru R&D Centre will focus on developing key product lines such as Check Point Quantum, which provides enterprise-grade network security. Additionally, there will be a strong emphasis on secure access service edge (SASE), identified as an area for strategic growth. The facility is designed to support the next-generation SASE network architecture, enhancing Check Point’s existing global presence and improving connectivity for enterprises worldwide.

Nataly Kremer, Chief Product Officer at Check Point, described the Bengaluru R&D Centre as a pivotal milestone in the company’s global innovation strategy. As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated, the new team in Bengaluru will play a crucial role in developing next-generation security solutions to ensure robust protection for customers. Rajeev Koripalli, appointed as Vice President of Research & Development for India, brings extensive experience in leading R&D teams across networking, security, wireless, and cloud technologies.

Once operational, the Bengaluru R&D Centre will focus on AI-driven threat prevention and security management enhancements. By nurturing local expertise and fostering innovation, Check Point aims to contribute to economic growth while delivering world-class cybersecurity solutions globally.

The new centre is housed within a 42,700-square-foot office, making it Check Point’s second-largest global facility after its headquarters in Tel Aviv. Initially accommodating over 100 engineers, the centre is designed for scalability to meet evolving business needs. With the leadership of Rajeev Koripalli and the focus on next-generation security solutions, the Bengaluru R&D Centre is poised to drive innovation and advance cybersecurity in the region and beyond.
