Cohesity, a leading data management company, is poised to strengthen its position in the market following a recent merger. The company’s CEO, Murthy, is confident in their ability to expand their market influence, noting that customers are increasingly seeking data protection solutions that offer more than just basic backups. Instead, they are looking for solutions with advanced security response capabilities.

To meet this demand, Cohesity is focusing on enhancing Veritas’ existing backup solution, NetBackup. They are incorporating features such as artificial intelligence, enhanced security measures, and integrated control into the Cohesity platform. These updates aim to provide customers with a comprehensive data protection solution that is more responsive and adaptable to the growing challenges of data growth and cyber threats.

Lee Sang-hoon, the CEO of Cohesity Korea, emphasized the importance of scalability and rapid recovery capabilities in modern backup solutions. Traditional backup solutions often relied on increasing the performance of individual devices through the addition of more computing power or storage. However, with the exponential growth of data and the rise of cyber threats like ransomware, flexible scalability and fast recovery have become critical requirements for effective data protection strategies.

Murthy echoed this sentiment, highlighting the urgent need for fast recovery in the event of a cyberattack. He noted that in many organizations, CEOs are increasingly concerned with the time it takes to recover from a cyber incident. As a result, there is a growing need for collaboration between Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) to develop effective response strategies. Cohesity’s technology is well-positioned to address these challenges and streamline the process of responding to cyber incidents.

Overall, Cohesity’s focus on enhancing data protection solutions with advanced security features and improved recovery capabilities is a testament to their commitment to meeting the evolving needs of their customers. By continuously refining their platform and integrating cutting-edge technologies, Cohesity is well-positioned to lead the market and provide customers with robust data protection solutions that address the complexities of modern data management.
