The tragic incident of a police constable’s daughter taking her own life after being harassed by cyber criminals in the Kalyanpur police area of Kanpur has shocked the community. The young student, who was pursuing a B.P.Ed at a university, fell victim to a disturbing manipulation of a video by the perpetrators.
The criminals not only made the video inappropriate but also shared it with two family members of the girl. Subsequently, they contacted her father with false allegations of her engaging in alcohol consumption and smoking near her college. They demanded Rs 50,000 to delete the video, causing extreme distress to the girl, ultimately leading her to resort to taking her own life.
The police conducted a post-mortem examination on Saturday and then handed over the girl’s body to her grieving family. The father expressed his frustration by stating that he had reported the incident to the Kalyanpur police, but unfortunately, no action was taken in response.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kalyanpur, Abhishek Kumar Pandey, assured the public that the matter is under investigation. He mentioned, “We are in the process of zeroing in on the perpetrators, they will be brought to book soon.” The authorities are determined to uncover the individuals responsible for driving the young student to such a tragic end.
