Cybersixgill enhances threat intelligence with IQ generative AI application

Cybersecurity firm Cybersixgill has unveiled a new application called IQ, which uses generative AI to provide automated reporting and dissemination of information on potential cyber threats on the dark web. The company aims to simplify access to threat intelligence data, which is typically manually analyzed by security analysts. By leveraging their own datasets, Cybersixgill IQ can “democratize” cybersecurity threat intelligence by taking raw data and generating contextual summaries suitable for security teams. The application is designed to integrate into existing threat intelligence workflows, including security information and event management (SIEM) programs.

Gabi Reish, Cybersixgill’s Chief of Business Development and Product Officer, stated that IQ aims to make threat intelligence accessible to all organizations, regardless of their level of adoption or understanding of CTI. The goal is to provide automated intelligence customized to the needs of each organization. By summarizing complex information quickly, IQ enables users to understand and collaborate on threat intelligence without requiring advanced technical expertise. Mitchell Schneider, a Senior Principal Analyst at Gartner Research, emphasized that IQ improves how threat intelligence is consumed by providing better context and collaboration for users. It simplifies threat intelligence into an easy-to-read format, reducing the need for specialized knowledge.

Despite the improvement in accessibility and ease of use offered by IQ, Schneider noted that AI products like IQ are not a threat to the job security of professional cybersecurity threat analysts. Instead, they are likely to augment their work and enable them to focus on more in-depth tasks, such as investigations and threat analysis. The automated reporting and dissemination of threat intelligence allow analysts to allocate their time more efficiently and enhance their disaster recovery capabilities.

IQ will be integrated into Cybersixgill’s existing investigative portal product, which includes other features such as attack surface management and dynamic vulnerability exploit intelligence. It will not be priced separately and is available now.

Cybersixgill’s IQ application demonstrates the potential of AI in simplifying and enhancing threat intelligence analysis. By automating the reporting and dissemination process, organizations can quickly and easily access actionable insights to protect themselves against cyber threats. The integration of IQ into existing workflows ensures a seamless adoption process for security teams.

The application’s ability to generate contextual summaries based on raw intelligence data provides a valuable service for organizations of all sizes and levels of cybersecurity maturity. It democratizes threat intelligence by making it accessible to everyone, regardless of their understanding of CTI. This broader access to threat intelligence can help organizations proactively identify and mitigate potential threats before they occur.

Furthermore, the integration of IQ into existing threat intelligence workflows, such as SIEM programs, streamlines the analysis process. Security teams can leverage their existing infrastructure and tools, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience. This integration also eliminates the need for additional training or complex deployment processes.

However, it is important to note that AI products like IQ are not a replacement for human analysts. While they simplify and enhance the analysis process, human expertise is still crucial in understanding and responding to complex cyber threats. AI products like IQ act as a powerful tool in the arsenal of cybersecurity professionals, enabling them to focus on tasks that require their expertise, such as investigations and threat analysis.

Cybersixgill’s IQ application is a significant development in the field of threat intelligence analysis. By leveraging generative AI and automating the reporting process, it offers organizations a quicker and more digestible way to access threat intelligence. With its seamless integration into existing workflows, IQ empowers security teams to effectively monitor and respond to cyber threats, ultimately strengthening their overall cybersecurity posture.
