Singapore’s armed forces have initiated the launch of two new commands dedicated to protecting the nation’s critical digital infrastructure. The Defence Cyber Command (DCCOM) and the SAF C4 and Digitalisation Command (SAFC4DC) were established under the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS), Singapore’s fourth military service. The inauguration ceremony held at Hillview Camp saw Defence Minister Dr. Ng Eng Hen emphasizing the significance of these commands in addressing the escalating frequency and complexity of cyber threats.
Dr. Ng highlighted the exponential growth of digital vulnerabilities, stressing the imperative for the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) to enhance its cyber defenses. On the other hand, the SAFC4DC focuses on driving the SAF’s digital transformation through cutting-edge technologies like cloud computing, 5G, and AI-driven solutions.
