Dragos and Rockwell Automation Enhance Cybersecurity for Manufacturers’ Industrial Control Systems

In a recent announcement, cybersecurity specialist Dragos Inc. revealed an expansion of its capabilities through a partnership with Rockwell Automation, the world’s largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation. As a result of this collaboration, Rockwell will offer the Dragos Platform to organizations as an enhanced cybersecurity threat detection solution for industrial controls systems (ICS)/operational technology (OT) environments. Additionally, Rockwell will provide global deployment services and support to help customers effectively implement and utilize their security investment.

This expansion builds upon a previous agreement between Dragos and Rockwell for the OT Incident Response Retainer (IRR) program. The aim of this program is to assist industrial organizations in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from cyber incidents in OT environments. The Dragos Platform, which forms a crucial part of this program, is highly regarded in the market as an ICS/OT cybersecurity technology solution. It effectively reduces cyber risks in industrial environments by leveraging OT-specific threat intelligence and insights from a team of experienced ICS/OT practitioners. The platform offers visibility into assets and vulnerabilities, detects threats to industrial systems, and enables efficient response through forensic investigation and OT-specific playbooks.

With the expanded capabilities resulting from this partnership, industrial asset owners and manufacturers will experience significant benefits. These include enhanced visibility into OT environments, improved threat detection and response across the entire industrial OT network, and expedited threat identification. The Dragos Platform will provide these organizations with unparalleled insights and actionable information to fortify their cybersecurity measures.

Matt Kennedy, Vice President of Global Capabilities and Innovation, Lifecycle Services at Rockwell Automation, expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership, stating, “This expansion of cybersecurity capabilities in partnership with Dragos is a natural continuation of the strong relationship we’ve built together.” He further emphasized the importance of maintaining the safety and security of OT infrastructure while achieving digital transformation goals within the manufacturing and industrial sphere.

Matthew Cowell, Vice President of Business Development at Dragos, Inc., acknowledged Rockwell Automation as a strategic partner that assists customers in scaling their investments in the Dragos Platform to meet their cybersecurity objectives. He highlighted Rockwell’s capabilities in designing and implementing a defensible architecture, providing virtualization infrastructure, and offering deployment and configuration expertise. These services are complemented by a global remote support organization, further enhancing the value provided to manufacturers.

This announcement follows another recent development for Dragos, as they raised $74 million in Series D Round Extension Funding. This additional funding reflects the growing recognition of Dragos’ leadership in the field of industrial cybersecurity and emphasizes the importance of their ongoing efforts to strengthen cyber defenses for critical infrastructure around the world.

As the partnership between Dragos Inc. and Rockwell Automation continues to evolve, their combined capabilities will play a vital role in safeguarding industrial control systems and operational technology environments. By harnessing the power of the Dragos Platform and Rockwell Automation’s expertise, manufacturers can enhance their cybersecurity measures, allowing them to focus on their digital transformation efforts with peace of mind regarding the safety and security of their OT infrastructure.
