Tel Aviv, Israel – Aim Security, an Israeli cybersecurity startup, has secured $10 million in seed funding as of today, with the successful fundraising round being led by YL Ventures. CCL (Cyber Club London) and the founders of WIZ, as well as angel investors from Google, Proofpoint, and Palo Alto Networks, also participated in the seed funding round. The funding will facilitate Aim Security in its mission to offer enterprises a comprehensive GenAI security platform that addresses the increasingly complex security challenges posed by AI and big data technology.
Founded by cybersecurity experts Matan Getz, CEO, and Adir Gruss, CTO, and influenced by their experience in advancing the use of AI and big data tools within the IDF’s elite intelligence Unit 8200, Aim Security aims to provide a one-stop shop solution for businesses to adopt and implement GenAI technology securely. With the rise of GenAI technology, as evidenced by McKinsey & Company’s report on “The State of AI in 2023”, which found that one-third of respondents regularly use GenAI in their business functions and another 40% plan to increase investment in AI generally, the need for robust cybersecurity solutions to mitigate the associated risks has become increasingly evident.
“Traditionally, as we navigate the security landscape in the finance industry, GenAI adoption presents considerable challenges,” stated Drew Robertson, CISO at Finance of America. “Aim provides us with a comprehensive solution to secure our GenAI usage across various platforms, ensuring that we remain in compliance with industry regulations and safeguard our customers’ data.”
Aim Security recognizes that the implementation of GenAI has matured in three primary ways, each presenting its own unique risks. These include using public GenAI tools and third-party apps with embedded GenAI features, the increasing adoption of GenAI-powered copilots by organizations, and the augmentation of proprietary applications through GenAI agents and AI-led development.
Conventional security tools have struggled to provide the specific expertise necessary to comprehend the risks associated with GenAI and, as a result, have failed to effectively address these “blind spots”. As Matan Getz, CEO and co-founder of Aim Security stated, “This significant risk surface is teeming with unique attack vectors that existing security solutions cannot fully address. Similar to the revolution brought about by cloud technology and the bespoke security solutions that followed, the GenAI revolution requires a fundamentally different approach.”
Aim Security offers a dedicated platform, the GenAI Protection Suite, that will provide organizations with actionable insights and an ability to secure their GenAI use. Through their innovative approach, which has already gained considerable customer traction, Aim Security is demonstrating a robust and adaptable plan to evolve in this new sector that is constantly in flux.
“As the future of GenAI emerges, Aim is at the forefront, equipping its customers with everything they need to safely navigate the emerging GenAI security threats while providing valuable business insights into GenAI use,” said Ofer Schreiber, Senior Partner at YL Ventures.
The key advantage of Aim Security’s comprehensive security solution lies in its ability to provide insights that augment organizations’ understanding of how GenAI can be harnessed to drive business goals. Elie AbenMoha, CISO at a Global 1000 media company, highlights the pivotal role of security in shaping GenAI deployment. “I’m delighted to have Aim’s expertise guiding us through this crucial process,” he said.
The successful seed funding round solidifies Aim Security’s position as the industry guide to secure GenAI adoption, empowering security leaders to drive business productivity with the right guardrails for proactive protection across their organizations. As businesses continue to embrace and integrate GenAI technology, Aim Security’s innovative approach fulfills a critical need in addressing the unique challenges and vulnerabilities that accompany this revolution. With the ongoing support of investors like YL Ventures, Aim Security is well-positioned to lead the way in securing GenAI adoption.
