DarkTech and Garland Technology Announced a new collaboration on January 24th, 2024.
The collaboration between DarkTech, a global leader in cybersecurity AI, and Garland Technology, a manufacturer of network TAP, aggregator, packet broker, data diode, and inline bypass solutions, aims to help businesses in protecting complex industrial environments. This partnership brings together Darktrace/OT and Garland Technology’s network visibility solutions, providing fast, seamless deployments, and more complete network visibility in operational technology (OT) environments.
The joint effort comes at a time when security risks in industrial environments and critical infrastructure are on the rise. Monetization of OT attacks, exposure of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) to open networks, and convergence with IT have increased opportunities for threat actors. With the increasing number of industrial IoT (IIoT) devices, which is forecasted to reach 37 billion in 2025, there are major visibility gaps for security teams due to tight budgets and personnel shortages.
Garland’s Network TAPs and Aggregators and Darktrace/OT are designed to provide visibility and security across OT, IT, and IIoT networks to Purdue level 1. This includes devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and remote terminal units (RTUs) that sit closest to the physical industrial processes. By utilizing Garland’s network TAP solutions with Darktrace, deployment challenges are minimized, points of IT and OT convergence are quickly illuminated, and potential threats are detected to keep data and environments secure.
Darktrace/OT utilizes Self-Learning AI to learn every detail of an organization’s bespoke OT systems, delivering increased visibility and detecting subtle deviations to stop threats at their earliest stages. Additionally, it can provide a unified view of both IT and OT environments, functioning within air-gapped or highly segmented networks without jeopardizing their integrity.
