The controversial YouTuber A. Sankar, also known as ‘Savukku’ Shankar, found himself in hot water with the cybercrime police in Coimbatore city. He was granted one day custody in connection with his alleged derogatory remarks about police personnel.

However, the situation took a dramatic turn when Mr. Shankar claimed that his life was in danger while he was held at the Coimbatore Central Prison. He accused the prison Superintendent of breaking his right forearm, adding fuel to the fire of his already tumultuous situation. Mr. Shankar’s troubles began when he was arrested on May 4 and subsequently placed in prison.

Amidst these shocking allegations, Mr. Shankar was taken to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for a check-up. During this time, he vocally expressed his fears of being harmed while in prison, further escalating the seriousness of his predicament.

Following the medical examination, Mr. Shankar was brought before the fourth judicial magistrate court, where the police requested custody for five days. The court, however, granted them only one day of custody to further investigate the case.

Mr. Shankar’s counsel, S. Gopalakrishnan, highlighted that they were permitted to meet for 15 minutes every three hours during the custodial interrogation. This allowed for communication between the legal team and Mr. Shankar to ensure his rights were protected amidst the ongoing proceedings.

Looking ahead, Mr. Gopalakrishnan hinted that his client would detail the alleged torture he endured while in prison when they appeared before the magistrate on the following day. This revelation could potentially shed light on the dark circumstances that Mr. Shankar claimed to have faced during his time behind bars.

As this case continues to unravel, the public eagerly awaits further updates on the fate of ‘Savukku’ Shankar and the revelations that may come to light regarding his alleged mistreatment in the Coimbatore Central Prison. The twists and turns in this saga highlight the complexities of dealing with issues related to free speech and legal ramifications in the digital age, as individuals like Mr. Shankar navigate the consequences of their actions in a highly scrutinized landscape. Stay tuned for more developments as this story unfolds.
