Symbiotic Security has recently announced updates to its application and integrated development environment (IDE) extension, aimed at further simplifying security for developers by enhancing usability, accessibility, and providing real-time security insights. The increasing demand for real-time security solutions has prompted organizations to prioritize security early in the software development process, seeking to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Symbiotic Security’s software assists developers and security teams in effectively managing risk.

The latest update from Symbiotic Security equips developers and security teams with improved visibility into vulnerabilities that have been avoided or inadvertently created, and subsequently remediated, without disrupting their workflow. By refining the user interface, enhancing accessibility, and incorporating deeper analytics, the update allows developers to take immediate action on security vulnerabilities while writing code.

Edouard Viot, CTO of Symbiotic Security, emphasized the significance of providing developers with real-time, actionable intelligence to enable them to write secure code confidently. The update ensures that developers and security teams have access to the necessary insights without disrupting their workflows. The refined user interface facilitates the viewing and navigation of security alerts and remediation suggestions, enabling a wide range of users to effectively leverage security insights.

The new release offers numerous benefits, including a revamped insights and reporting panel to provide users with a comprehensive view of their threat exposure, new dashboards to monitor team progress and KPIs related to vulnerabilities and threat exposure, a policy breach indicator to empower developers in managing security processes, and a Learning tab integrated directly into the IDE to enhance cybersecurity skills without impacting velocity.

This announcement follows Symbiotic Security’s November launch, where the company introduced the industry’s first real-time security solution for software development, encompassing detection, remediation, and just-in-time training. Symbiotic Security continues to enhance its platform to seamlessly integrate security into the software development lifecycle, ensuring the timely detection and resolution of vulnerabilities.

By incorporating security directly into the software development lifecycle, Symbiotic Security ensures that security is no longer an afterthought but an integral part of the coding process. The software continuously scans code that has been written and as it is created, identifying and resolving potential threats immediately. Additionally, Symbiotic Security offers developers contextual remediations within their IDE, enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving security.

The updated Symbiotic Security app and IDE extension are now available, providing developers and security teams with enhanced capabilities to manage risk and address security vulnerabilities effectively.
