A cyber security conference aimed at public sector leaders will take place in Washington, DC, on Feb. 27. The Trellix Public Sector Cybersecurity Summit will unite top technology leaders from across the public sector to discuss emerging topics in cybersecurity, including ransomware, zero trust, global security and XDR.
Throughout the summit, conversations will take place about AI and how it will intersect with public sector cybersecurity, partnerships used to strengthen threat intelligence, how to navigate, take action on, and go beyond new cybersecurity policy directives, and much more.
The summit will address the fact that public sector organizations continue to face a constant barrage of sophisticated cyber threats. With new cybersecurity mandates and guidance, from recent executive orders to the release of the 2023 National Cyber Strategy, public sector leaders must make considerable decisions about their cyber enterprise that will have lasting impacts for years to come.
In the midst of these ongoing challenges, the emergence of novel security capabilities built on machine learning, AI, predictive analytics and extended detection and response has given security leaders a new arsenal of tools to defend against the next sophisticated attack.

Meanwhile, multiple upcoming events are set to take place in February and March 2024 for enthusiastic tech professionals in the field.
SANS San Diego 2024, scheduled for Feb. 12 – Feb. 17, will host 41 interactive courses with hands-on labs, allowing participants to practice skills and compete against their peers during NetWars Tournaments. They will also have an opportunity to network with their instructor and industry colleagues in real-time. Each course will include electronic and printed books, and several courses will align with GIAC certifications.
This will be followed by SANS Security East New Orleans 2024, taking place from Feb. 19 – Feb. 24 in New Orleans, as well as virtually. Similar to the San Diego event, the New Orleans event will offer 41 interactive courses with hands-on labs and the opportunity to compete against peers during NetWars Tournaments. Networking with industry colleagues and instructors will also be part of the event, and several courses will align with GIAC certifications.
In the cyber security community, there will also be a Spring 2024 CISSP Study Group presented by ISSA Central MD from Feb. 20 – May 1, 2024. The Study Group will provide a learning environment to better absorb and understand the material rather than just cramming in information. Participants can attend each session in-person in Columbia, MD, or virtually online.
