GetReal Security, a cybersecurity startup, recently announced the successful completion of its Series A funding round, securing $17.5 million to bolster its efforts in combating AI-driven threats like deepfakes and impersonation. The funding was led by Forgepoint Capital, with support from notable investors including Ballistic Ventures, Capital One Ventures, Cisco Investments, Evolution Equity, K2 Access Fund, and In-Q-Tel (IQT). This financial boost comes less than a year after the company emerged from stealth mode, marking a pivotal moment in its mission to address the escalating risks posed by AI-generated content in the digital realm.

Established with the collaboration of Ballistic Ventures and UC Berkeley Professor Hany Farid, GetReal Security focuses on detecting and mitigating AI-generated threats by offering organizations a comprehensive platform equipped with advanced image, audio, and video verification tools. These tools are designed to combat deepfakes and other malicious AI-generated content, enabling organizations to effectively manage risks, identify potential threats, and deploy necessary countermeasures to protect their digital assets.

In addition to its core platform, GetReal Security also provides essential training for security teams, guiding organizations in policy development to construct robust defenses against evolving threats. The company’s newly launched incident response service offers sophisticated forensic analysis to assist organizations in navigating complex security incidents stemming from AI-generated threats. Already embraced by a diverse range of sectors including finance, government, multinational corporations, and media entities, GetReal Security’s products have demonstrated their efficacy in addressing critical security challenges.

Armed with the fresh injection of funds, GetReal Security is poised to ramp up its research and development efforts to enhance its product offerings and broaden its market footprint. The company aims to scale its go-to-market strategies to meet the escalating demand for solutions capable of verifying and authenticating digital media in an era marked by rapid advancements in AI technologies. As the prevalence of AI-generated content continues to surge, GetReal Security remains steadfast in its commitment to equipping organizations with vital tools to fortify their defenses against cyber threats and preserve the integrity of their digital ecosystems.
