Josh Krueger, the Chief Information Security Officer at Project Hosts, Inc., has recently been appointed to the Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee (FSCAC). This appointment highlights Mr. Krueger’s expertise in the field of cloud computing security and his commitment to supporting secure cloud practices and compliance standards.

The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) is a government-wide initiative in the United States that aims to standardize security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring of cloud products and services. The FSCAC plays a crucial role in advising FedRAMP on various aspects of cloud adoption and security, ensuring the protection of users and providers of cloud services.

Joining Mr. Krueger on the FSCAC are Lawrence Hale, who will serve as the new chair of the committee, and Kayla Underkoffler, the lead security technologist of HackerOne. Additionally, Carlton Harris, the senior vice president of End to End Solutions, has been appointed as a new member. Michael Vacirca, a senior engineering manager at Google, has also been reappointed for another term on the panel.

The FSCAC was established by the General Services Administration in compliance with the FedRAMP Authorization Act of 2022. The committee’s responsibilities include advising the GSA Administrator, the FedRAMP Board, and various agencies on technical, financial, and operational matters related to cloud computing adoption. They also play a key role in enhancing authorization processes, collecting feedback on agency compliance, and promoting collaboration within the FedRAMP community.

As a Representative Member of the FSCAC, Mr. Krueger will bring valuable perspectives to the delivery of FedRAMP’s Compliance-as-a-Service solutions. His role involves advocating for businesses of all sizes in the cloud computing industry and ensuring their interests are represented in federal discussions on cloud adoption.

The FSCAC will convene for an open meeting on May 20th to discuss their upcoming priorities and initiatives aimed at bolstering the security and adoption of cloud computing solutions across the federal government. This ongoing collaboration and guidance provided by the committee are essential for maintaining a secure and effective cloud computing environment in the public sector.

In conclusion, Mr. Josh Krueger’s appointment to the FSCAC is a testament to his expertise and dedication to promoting secure cloud practices. As the committee continues its work to advise on cloud adoption and security, it will play a vital role in shaping the future of cloud computing in the federal government.
