HuiOne Guarantee, a Telegram-based online marketplace, has made headlines as it surpasses $24 billion in cryptocurrency transactions, solidifying its position as the largest illicit platform in the market. Originally established in 2021 for the sale of cars and real estate, the platform has since morphed into a hub for criminal activities such as fraud, money laundering, and human trafficking.

Reports suggest that HuiOne Guarantee is linked to the ruling Hun family in Cambodia, raising concerns about its potential ties to organized crime. Despite attempts to rebrand itself as Haowang Guarantee and distance itself from its parent company, the platform has continued to thrive. In the fourth quarter of 2024 alone, cash inflows exceeded $4 billion, highlighting its pivotal role in facilitating various criminal operations, including online scams and terrorism financing.

Elliptic, a blockchain analytics firm, uncovered suspicious transactions involving HuiOne Guarantee’s subsidiary, HuiOne Pay, receiving over $150,000 in cryptocurrency from an anonymous wallet associated with North Korea’s Lazarus hacking group. This wallet was reportedly used to deposit stolen funds from three crypto companies in 2023. Additionally, HuiOne Guarantee’s Telegram bot, known for facilitating online gambling, has seen a staggering $6 billion in crypto flow through it, raising concerns about potential money laundering activities.

Despite efforts to block certain illicit activities like human trafficking and firearms sales, HuiOne Guarantee continues to attract criminals looking to launder stolen cryptocurrency. The marketplace’s growth has been fueled by a 51% increase in monthly cryptocurrency inflows since July 2024, further cementing its dominance in the illicit online market.

In an attempt to diversify its offerings and reduce the risk of deplatforming by major entities like Tether or Telegram, HuiOne Group has introduced several crypto-related products including a stablecoin called USDH, a decentralized crypto exchange, and a messaging app called ChatMe. However, these initiatives have not detracted from HuiOne Guarantee’s prominent position in the illicit online marketplace, as it continues to facilitate organized crime and expand its influence in the world of online fraud and money laundering.

As investigations into HuiOne Guarantee’s criminal activities unfold, authorities are keeping a close watch on the platform to prevent further exploitation of vulnerable individuals and illicit financial transactions. With the marketplace’s deep-rooted connections to various criminal networks, efforts to curb its operations remain ongoing to safeguard the integrity of the digital financial ecosystem.

Overall, HuiOne Guarantee’s rise to prominence in the illicit online marketplace serves as a stark reminder of the challenges posed by cybercrime and the importance of vigilance in combating illegal activities in the digital realm.
