The International Cyber Expo, organized by Nineteen Group, has returned with a bang, solidifying its position as a must-attend event for cybersecurity professionals and enthusiasts. With the support of esteemed government organizations, distinguished experts, and leading industry vendors, the event saw a remarkable 35% growth in its second year, attracting 6,475 visitors from over 80 countries. With 159 exhibitors showcasing their cutting-edge solutions and over 60 talks, demos, presentations, and CISO roundtable discussions, the expo once again proved to be an unparalleled gathering of industry leaders.

Lisa Ventura MBE, Founder of Cyber Security Unity and Advisory Council Member of the International Cyber Expo, expressed her satisfaction with this year’s event, noting that it fostered a great sense of community in the cybersecurity industry. She highlighted two key themes that emerged during the expo: generative AI and the need for closer collaboration within the industry. Ventura emphasized the importance of securing generative AI, and discussions surrounding this topic were a highlight of the Global Cyber Summit Stage. She predicts that this will be a hot topic in cybersecurity moving forward and looks forward to next year’s event.

One of the highlights of the International Cyber Expo was the presence of UK’s Minister of State for Security, Tom Tugendhat, who took the time to visit exhibitors and discuss the advancements in cybersecurity technology in the past year. Tugendhat also delivered a speech at the International Security Expo, where he highlighted significant moments in the security industry over the last year, emphasizing the importance of cybersecurity in the UK’s security defenses.

The Global Cyber Summit, sponsored by Infoblox, Sonatype, Google Cloud, Opentext, and Squalify, focused on the cybersecurity implications of geopolitical tensions. Speakers shed light on the Ukrainian perspective and strategies for managing sanction risks through automated inspections. Another presentation provided valuable insights into the operational methods of Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), shedding light on their goals, preferred targets, and tactics.

The inaugural event “Grab the Mic: Women in Cyber” was a resounding success, thanks to the efforts of host Eleanor Dallaway. The event featured inspirational speakers who shared their experiences and challenges in the cybersecurity industry. The event closed with a panel discussion on how to land the job of your dreams, featuring inspiring women in cyber.

The Cyber Wellbeing Corner, supported by The Zensory and Jamf, provided a neuro inclusive, safe space for cybersecurity professionals to take time out and relax. Recognizing the immense responsibility and stress that cybersecurity professionals face, the corner aimed to champion inclusivity and wellbeing in the industry.

ITN Business launched its program ‘The Cyber Impact’ at the International Cyber Expo, which delves into the dynamic landscape of cyber threats and showcases cutting-edge solutions to counteract them. The program serves as an essential resource for understanding the intricacies of cybersecurity and highlights the work being done by the UK Cyber Security Council.

Visitors had the opportunity to experience hands-on activities at the expo, including a Table Top Exercise that simulated real-world scenarios to test teams’ responses to cyber incidents. The Cyber Escape Room, developed by the Metropolitan Police’s Cyber Protect Team, aimed to foster vigilant cyber behavior through problem-solving exercises addressing topics such as phishing and data protection.

CrisisCast offered a behind-the-scenes journey of a live cyber attack, highlighting the boardroom’s response and providing insights to fortify defenses and extract critical intelligence. The International Delegations Programme facilitated seamless navigation for international visitors, tailored to their specific business requirements.

The International Cyber Expo has once again proven to be an indispensable event for the cybersecurity industry, providing a platform for professionals and enthusiasts to connect, learn, and stay ahead of the ever-evolving cyber landscape. With its resounding success this year, anticipation is already building for next year’s event.
