Keeper Security Enhances Privileged Access Management for Asite

In a significant shift toward enhanced security measures, Keeper Security has disclosed that Asite, a construction technology firm based in the UK, has integrated KeeperPAM® into its operations. This strategic deployment aims to fortify privileged access management, facilitate secrets governance, and elevate credential security throughout Asite’s global presence.

Asite’s decision to adopt KeeperPAM was documented in an in-depth customer case study, which highlighted the company’s transition from a patchwork of outdated privileged access and secrets management tools to Keeper’s cohesive, cloud-native platform. This move is designed to improve operational visibility, streamline administrative tasks, and bolster security measures across its extensive international infrastructure, essential for a company managing a diverse array of projects.

Specializing in cloud-based collaboration software tailored for the construction industry, Asite offers solutions that aid organizations in managing a wide range of projects—from digital twins and 3D models to detailed document handling and supplier collaboration. With a workforce exceeding 500 employees and data centres strategically located across nine global venues, the company recognized the urgent need for a more uniform and effective strategy for managing privileged accounts, passwords, and machine identities.

Through the case study, it becomes evident that Asite sought to address the challenges posed by conventional browser-based password managers, along with legacy privileged access management (PAM) and secrets management tools. The existing systems were not only cumbersome but also costly to maintain. The company identified a particular necessity to securely extend privileged access controls to third-party suppliers and external partners who play vital roles in customer projects.

Tiago Rosado, the Chief Information Security Officer at Asite, shared his satisfaction with the deployment process of KeeperPAM, stating, “The deployment was extremely easy, one of the best in my experience. I wish other tools were as easy to deploy.” This indicates a shift in the user experience often associated with security management tools, advocating for user-friendly solutions in a sector that demands robust security measures.

As part of the integration of KeeperPAM, Asite standardized password management within its organization. This involved replacing disparate browser-based password managers with a centralized control system for credentials. Moreover, the implementation of Keeper BreachWatch enabled active surveillance for compromised credentials on the dark web, while Keeper Secrets Manager streamlined the automating function for creating and rotating secrets and encryption keys. This approach notably reduced reliance on long-lived credentials, which are often vulnerable to breaches.

The broader implications of this deployment reveal a common challenge faced by numerous organizations attempting to maintain privileged access in increasingly distributed IT environments. A report from Keeper indicated that a staggering 34% of UK employees resort to reusing passwords across multiple accounts, highlighting a concerning trend in password safety. Furthermore, 36% of UK respondents indicated that enforcing stringent password and credential protocols remains a significant challenge for IT and security teams.

Keeper positions KeeperPAM as an all-encompassing, cloud-native platform that amalgamates several critical functions including enterprise password management, secrets management, privileged session management, endpoint privilege management, secure remote access, and dark web monitoring within one zero-trust architecture. This approach is particularly relevant as organizations navigate the complexities of managing access within an increasingly interconnected ecosystem.
