KnowBe4 collaborates with Egress to strengthen organizations’ inbound and outbound email security defenses.

A new partnership between KnowBe4 and Egress has been announced, aimed at providing organizations with a proactive approach to defending against advanced email threats and managing human risk. KnowBe4, known for its security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, will now integrate its user risk score into Egress’ adaptive security model, enhancing its capabilities to detect and prevent inbound and outbound threats.

The partnership aims to address the fact that people represent the biggest risk to organizations when it comes to cybersecurity, particularly in relation to email usage. By combining dynamic technical controls with tailored security awareness, the two companies believe that organizations can better manage the human risk factor. This collaboration allows joint customers to leverage the combined value of KnowBe4’s security training and Egress’ adaptive security for cloud email, preparing them for potential threats before they even materialize.

Egress, as a cybersecurity company, stands out from others in the market due to its ability to generate aggregated individual risk scores. By using product telemetry, open-source intelligence, and behavioral data, along with threat intelligence from third-party security applications, Egress is able to create an accurate risk score for each user. When the risk score reaches a certain threshold, the Intelligent Email Security platform automatically adjusts its controls to defend against advanced phishing threats, human error, and data exfiltration. This integration with KnowBe4’s user data will enrich Egress’ risk score and further enhance its capabilities.

According to Tony Pepper, CEO at Egress, managing human risk requires a combination of technical controls and security awareness. He sees the partnership with KnowBe4 as an opportunity to help customers be better prepared for emerging threats. Stu Sjouwerman, CEO at KnowBe4, shares this sentiment, stating that organizations are strongest when the security offerings in their ecosystem work together to address the human element. By turning data into action, Egress’ adaptive security model, combined with the data generated by KnowBe4, will provide joint customers with enriched human risk scores.

The availability of adaptive security as part of the Intelligent Email Security platform is now open to organizations worldwide. Existing Egress customers will receive this update free of charge. Organizations interested in learning more about the partnership and its benefits can request a personalized product demonstration.

In addition to the partnership announcement, the news release provides information about both Egress and KnowBe4. Egress, the only cloud email security platform that continuously assesses human risk, helps customers defend against advanced phishing attacks and outbound data breaches. With offices in various locations including London, New York, and Toronto, Egress is trusted by major brands worldwide. KnowBe4, on the other hand, is a provider of security awareness training and simulated phishing platforms. With its new-school approach to awareness training, KnowBe4 helps organizations raise awareness about social engineering tactics and mobilize their end users as the last line of defense against cyber threats.

With the growing sophistication of advanced persistent threats, organizations are recognizing the need to address the human element of cybersecurity. By partnering to combine their expertise, KnowBe4 and Egress seek to provide organizations with the tools and knowledge necessary to proactively defend against email threats and manage human risk effectively. Through this collaboration, they aim to equip organizations with the best possible defense against emerging threats in the ever-evolving world of cybersecurity.
