KnowBe4, a leading provider of security awareness training and simulated phishing, has recently marked its 13th anniversary by making significant contributions to protect endangered species and support the environment. As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship, the company has chosen to assist in safeguarding 13 endangered species, one for each of the 11 countries where KnowBe4 has offices. Two additional species, the monarch butterfly and the Florida Panther, were also included. Collaboration with Endangered Species International (ESI) and Friends of the Florida Panther Refuge enables KnowBe4 to protect these endangered animals.
For each country in which KnowBe4 operates, a specific endangered species has been chosen to receive support. These species include the Western Swamp Tortoise in Australia, the South American Tapir in Brazil, the Arabian Leopard in Dubai, the Apollo Butterfly in Germany, the Lion-Tailed Macaque in India, Ishikawa’s Frog in Japan, the Eurasian Curlew in the Netherlands, the Green Sea Turtle in Singapore, the African Penguin in South Africa, the Pipistrelle bat in the United Kingdom, and the Giant Tiger Salamander in the United States.
Additionally, KnowBe4 has also taken on the responsibility of adopting 13 beehives for the third consecutive year. Through its collaboration with the Pinellas Beekeepers Association (PBA), the adoption of these beehives will culminate in the protection and sustenance of approximately 20,000 to 35,000 honey bees. The total number of bees that will inhabit these beehives, estimated to be around 455,000, has the potential to pollinate an astounding 3.9 billion flowers per day.
KnowBe4’s CEO, Stu Sjouwerman, expressed his excitement about the company’s charitable efforts on their anniversary. He stated, “This year, we celebrate another milestone, our 13th anniversary, by protecting the endangered species who inhabit the countries and communities we work in around the world. We are also proud to uphold our tradition of adopting beehives for another year, which will result in real, positive effects for our planet. These donations and adoption are an excellent way to signify this milestone for our organization with something to help improve nature.”
This endeavor to protect endangered species and their habitats is just one of the many philanthropic initiatives undertaken by KnowBe4. In the past, the company has donated to ocean clean-up efforts, organized local drives for school supplies, participated in builds with Habitat for Humanity, and more. Earlier this year, KnowBe4 also awarded three $10,000 scholarships to support black Americans in cybersecurity, military personnel, veterans and their spouses in cybersecurity, as well as women of color in cybersecurity in South Africa.
KnowBe4’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its dedication to supporting various causes demonstrate the company’s corporate responsibility. By actively engaging in these initiatives, KnowBe4 sets an example for other organizations and individuals to prioritize the well-being of our planet and its inhabitants. Through its efforts to protect endangered species and promote environmental awareness, KnowBe4 continues to make a positive impact on the world.
