In Hyderabad, Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, emphasized the need for police forces in India to be equipped to handle the challenges posed by tech-savvy criminals. During the passing out parade of the 76th batch of IPS trainees at the SVP National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Rai urged the new recruits to take on leadership roles in fighting cybercrime.
Rai highlighted the importance of utilizing the skills acquired at the academy to address cyber threats effectively. He pointed out that the Ministry of Home Affairs has established the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) and Cyber Forensic Laboratory to tackle cybercrimes. Rai emphasized that it is the responsibility of trainee IPS officers to join these specialized units and deliver results in combating cyber threats.
The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, has underscored the significance of technology in enhancing the internal security of the country. In line with this, the police technology mission was launched to ensure that law enforcement agencies stay ahead of criminals by leveraging technology advancements, Rai mentioned.
Furthermore, Rai stated that the role of police forces extends beyond apprehending criminals to investigating cases thoroughly and preventing future crimes. He commended the efforts of police and security forces in containing Naxalite extremists to small pockets in the country and stressed the importance of rooting out the remaining elements.
The passing out parade saw the participation of 188 IPS trainees, including 19 foreign nationals and 54 women, who completed 45 weeks of phase-I training. The trainees will proceed to Delhi for attachments and visits with central police organizations and Central Armed Police Forces, including the CRPF, followed by practical training for 29 weeks. Subsequently, they will return to SVPNPA for 9 weeks of phase-II training.
The event was marked by celebrations as family members of the IPS trainees gathered to commemorate the accomplishments of their loved ones. The occasion served as a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by the trainees during their training at SVPNPA.
