Dragos, the global leader in cybersecurity for Operational Technology (OT), has partnered with Macnica Corporation to provide Dragos’s OT cybersecurity solutions in Japan. The announcement of this partnership comes as cyber risks continue to rise in critical infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, with threat groups targeting OT systems and an increase in ransomware attacks. The Japanese government has also recognized the importance of strengthening OT security and plans to implement an examination system to ensure sufficient measures are being applied to critical infrastructure.

To address these challenges, Dragos offers a range of products, services, and intelligence that help improve OT security. Macnica will support the promotion of effective OT security measures by selecting and introducing Dragos’s products and services to customers, as well as providing operational support after their implementation.

One of the key offerings from Dragos is the Dragos Platform, which provides visibility into assets, network communication, and vulnerabilities. It also allows for the detection of potential threats or breaches and offers playbooks for forensics and response. Additionally, the platform includes the Neighborhood Keeper option, which facilitates “collective defense” by aggregating the detection status of threats for each industry and sharing them in a timely manner.

Dragos also offers Professional Services, leveraging the power of the Dragos Platform. These services include the OT Cybersecurity Architecture Review, which evaluates the design and implementation of the OT network to identify security issues and provide actionable recommendations for improving the security posture. The Compromise Assessment service is included as part of the architecture review or can be availed as a standalone service. It provides visibility within an OT environment by inspecting traffic samples for vulnerabilities, threat behaviors, and indicators of compromise.

Another offering from Dragos is WorldView, which provides useful information for countermeasures, such as the latest knowledge on incident analysis, attack tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), indicators of compromise (IoC), and vulnerabilities. WorldView also offers situation reports specialized for OT environments.

Both Dragos and Macnica are excited about this partnership. Macnica believes that Dragos’s OT cybersecurity solutions will help protect Japanese businesses, especially as local industrial systems become increasingly connected. On the other hand, Dragos sees this collaboration as an opportunity to bring its technology to Japan and assist in the rapid digital transformation happening in the country. By entering the market through Macnica, Dragos can leverage the company’s esteemed reputation, history in Japan, and commitment to helping businesses in the region.

Macnica’s focus on security extends beyond OT and IoT. The company provides security products and services for Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), aiming to protect society from cyber threats. Moving forward, Macnica will continue to support the strengthening of security in Japan by providing optimal solutions to companies in critical infrastructure, manufacturing, and other industries.

In conclusion, the partnership between Dragos and Macnica will address the growing need for OT cybersecurity solutions in Japan. By offering a range of products, services, and intelligence, Dragos aims to help Japanese businesses protect their systems and communities in the face of increasing cyber risks. Macnica’s support and operational expertise will ensure that these solutions are effectively implemented and maintained. Together, they aim to safeguard critical infrastructure and contribute to the overall security of Japan.
