Senior Superintendent of Police Gagan Ajit Singh has directed circle and beat officers to conduct meetings, workshops, and seminars with elderly individuals in order to inform them about the services available to them within the Police Department.
The campaign kicked off with an inaugural event at MGMN Senior Secondary School in Ahmedgarh, where DSP Rajan Sharma engaged with members of the All Bank Retirees Forum, led by president KK Bansal. Similar events were held at Sohrab Public Senior Secondary School in Malerkotla and at a government school in Amargarh. During these sessions, participants were briefed on the special security measures in place for senior citizens, as well as warned about the dangers of falling victim to economic scams orchestrated by cyber criminals. DSP Sharma advised the elderly not to respond to unsolicited phone calls or requests received through social media.
In an effort to enhance communication and response mechanisms, senior citizens were urged to save the contact information of their local Station House Officers (SHOs) and beat officers, should they ever find themselves in need of assistance during emergencies. Additionally, DSP Sharma assured pensioners that police officials have been instructed to treat senior citizens with the same care and respect as they would their own family members. He encouraged pensioners to reach out to the police without hesitation if they encounter any issues or require support.
