Stacy Dunn, a Senior Solutions Engineer from the SANS Institute, recently opened up about the challenges she faced as a woman with ADHD in the IT industry. Dunn shared her story as part of an effort to help other neurodiverse individuals succeed in the field.

Dunn had worked in a variety of positions in different fields before deciding to go back to school to get her degree in management information systems and information assurance. She started working her way up the ladder in the IT industry and eventually became a successful woman in the field.

2. Utilize technology: Dunn recommends using technology to help manage ADHD-related challenges such as distractions and time management. There are various tools available, such as noise-cancelling headphones, timers, and apps.

3. Practice self-care: Dunn emphasizes the importance of self-care, including taking breaks when needed and prioritizing wellness activities like exercise and meditation.

Dunn’s story serves as an inspiration to many who face challenges in the workforce, particularly those with neurodiverse conditions. Her advice shows that with the right mindset and support, it is possible to overcome obstacles and succeed in any field.

Overall, the IT industry is making strides towards inclusivity and diversity in the workplace, and Stacy Dunn’s story represents a valuable contribution in supporting this movement.
