The (ISC)2 Cybersecurity Workforce Study conducted in 2022 revealed a global cybersecurity worker gap of 3.4 million, while broader research indicates a tech talent gap of 40 million. These partnerships will enable Okta to support young talent without four-year college degrees, help close the Opportunity Divide, and promote economic equity.

The educational grants component of the initiative will provide access to Okta’s learning catalog, practice exams, and certification exams to 5,000 professionals who are transitioning to careers in tech or cybersecurity. This program primarily targets individuals who have been displaced from technology careers, including veterans and their spouses. By earning technical certifications, these individuals can acquire the skills and confidence necessary to secure employment in the industry. According to Pearson VUE’s 2023 Value of IT Certification Report, 92% of certified individuals reported increased confidence in their abilities, and 82% produced higher quality work. Okta Certifications are also known for being some of the highest paying IT certifications in the industry. These grants will specifically cater to individuals residing in the United States with on-the-job experience in information technology or software development.
