Pentera, a leading cybersecurity company, has introduced Cyber Pulse, a groundbreaking tool designed to enhance the Pentera platform with the latest vulnerabilities and attack techniques identified by the Pentera research team. This new mechanism, Cyber Pulse, provides organizations with a continuous stream of updated cyber exposure validation capabilities, allowing them to detect and address new threats and vulnerabilities before they are exploited by malicious actors.
In the past year alone, the MITRE ATT&CK catalog has expanded by more than 30 new tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), while CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog has grown by over 180 CVEs. The rapid evolution of cyber threats has put immense pressure on enterprise IT security teams to constantly evaluate and communicate their organization’s risk exposure.
Through Cyber Pulse, Pentera offers regular “pulses” that seamlessly integrate into the platform, speeding up the delivery and adoption process across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid IT environments. This enables enterprises to proactively evaluate their vulnerability to high-profile CVEs, as well as emerging attack techniques, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations through simulated cyber attack actions and exploits.
The initial releases of Cyber Pulse feature a wide range of updates, including hundreds of CVEs from the CISA KEV catalog, over 300 new privilege escalation techniques focusing on Linux-based attacks, new attack vectors like container escape and cryptojacking, and enhancements in credential extraction such as SSH keys and Microsoft NAA credentials.
Ran Tamir, Chief Product Officer at Pentera, emphasized the importance of Cyber Pulse in helping security teams stay ahead of evolving threats. He stated, “When new CVEs or attack techniques surface, security teams have a limited time to test their defenses, assess potential impacts, and address risks to their environment efficiently. Pentera Cyber Pulse ensures that enterprises remain proactive in defending against these threats by continuously updating their defenses. With Cyber Pulse, security teams can quickly prioritize remediation efforts, report on their cybersecurity status against emerging threats, and maintain confidence in their overall security posture.”
By offering a solution like Cyber Pulse, Pentera aims to empower organizations to stay one step ahead of cyber threats and bolster their defense mechanisms against the evolving landscape of cybersecurity risks. This innovative tool not only enhances the Pentera platform but also equips security teams with the necessary capabilities to protect their data, systems, and networks from potential cyber attacks.
