Believing it to be a legitimate job opportunity, Sivanesh ended up transferring a total of ₹1.74 lakh to the scammers’ bank account in multiple transactions. However, as there was no further communication from the fraudsters, he decided to approach the Cybercrime police for assistance.
Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Narra Chaitanya, the Cybercrime police launched a thorough investigation into the matter and successfully tracked down the culprits – identified as Parveen and Gaurav – to their location in Haryana. A special police team was formed to apprehend the duo, who were later brought back to Puducherry for further legal proceedings.
During a press conference, Mr. Chaitanya revealed that one of the accused, Gaurav, had prior experience working in a fraudulent call centre in Noida before starting his own operation in Haryana. It was discovered that Gaurav, along with his accomplice Sandeep, had defrauded numerous job seekers through their deceptive scheme. While Parveen and Gaurav have been arrested, efforts are underway to locate and apprehend Sandeep, who is currently evading law enforcement.
