TEL AVIV, Israel, Oct. 15, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Port, the leading internal developer portal, has secured $35 million in Series B funding, bringing its total funding to $58M. The funding round was led by Accel, with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Team8, and TLV Partners. This funding round comes on the back of Port’s exceptional growth, with a 7x year-over-year increase in revenue.

Port’s user base has grown eightfold since its Series A funding just a year ago, with renowned companies such as LG, British Telecom, and GitHub utilizing their internal developer portal. GitHub recently selected Port as the internal developer portal for their engineering team, showcasing the platform’s widespread adoption. Additionally, Port has announced the integration of LLMs into its platform, introducing generative AI to enhance the developer experience.

The landscape of modern software development has undergone significant changes, with developers now responsible for tasks beyond just writing code. They are now involved in the delivery process of features, managing cloud resources, handling incidents and outages, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards for security and quality. This shift has created a situation where developers are constantly seeking guidance and relying on tribal knowledge to navigate the complex development ecosystem, leading to inefficiencies and potential issues with quality and security.

Port aims to address these challenges by providing developers with a central work hub through its internal developer portal. The platform unifies all the tools and workflows developers need to manage the software development lifecycle efficiently within a single, intuitive interface. By integrating with existing tech stacks, Port creates a standard operating environment for R&D teams, enabling developers to perform complex tasks with ease while ensuring compliance with company policies.

Zohar Einy, co-founder, and CEO of Port, emphasized the importance of empowering teams to manage their expanded responsibilities effectively. He stated, “Our mission is to ensure that everything is secure, compliant, and high-quality by design. Port’s dynamic platform evolves with the needs of each company, enabling effective collaboration between stakeholders and maintaining organizational standards.”

The integration of LLMs with Port’s platform allows organizations to leverage AI capabilities, such as natural language search for incident investigations, generating error messages from build logs, and recommending internal components based on current projects. This integration showcases Port’s commitment to enhancing the developer experience and streamlining workflows for improved efficiency.

Industry experts recognize the potential impact of internal developer portals on software development, with Accel Partner Matt Robinson highlighting Port as the leading product in this space. Amit Karp, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, emphasized the role of customizable internal developer portals in unlocking the full benefits of DevOps, improving DORA metrics, workflows, agility, and empowerment of developers.

Founded in 2022 by Zohar Einy and Yonatan Boguslavski, Port has quickly become the standard in internal developer portals, serving as a central hub for developers, security teams, and leadership. With an open platform that integrates seamlessly with existing tech stacks and incorporates AI capabilities, Port is driving significant business impact and unlocking the true promise of DevOps for companies of all sizes.
