The PQ-REACT Project has initiated its second Open Call, named IMPLEMENT, aiming to foster quantum innovators in devising solutions to tackle cryptographic encryption based on traditional algorithms. With a substantial funding of €650,000 in place, the project seeks to support four chosen proposals, granting each €162,500 for further development and execution. The primary objective of this call is to propel the progress of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to safeguard data integrity amidst the continuous evolution of quantum computing technologies. The deadline for proposal submissions is scheduled for May 27, 2025, at 17:00 CEST, with consortia mandates requiring 2-3 partners, including at least one SME and one tech provider.

In a bid to engage a broader set of stakeholders, the Open Call is extended to European-eligible entities like start-ups, SMEs, universities, research centers, and NGOs operating within the European domain. These entities are presented with four distinct use cases to base their proposals on, encompassing critical areas such as smart grid meters pilot, 5G/6G architectures, context agility manager for PQC benchmarking, and Eclipse-Qrisp for PQC. The overarching aim of these use cases is to drive the development of quantum-safe solutions, particularly in pivotal sectors like energy, telecommunications, and cybersecurity.

Complementing the Open Call, PQ-REACT has arranged a series of InfoDays and Pitching sessions to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the call’s intricacies. The InfoDays serve as a platform to furnish detailed insights into the Open Call process, evaluation criteria, and applicant expectations. Moreover, they offer a conducive environment for potential applicants to engage in networking, seek clarifications, and establish connections within the quantum innovation sphere.

For interested applicants, all requisite information, including guidelines, FAQs, and submission directives, can be accessed on the PQ-REACT website. The application form and supplementary resources are readily available online for perusal by potential entities. In instances requiring further clarification or inquiries, applicants are encouraged to reach out to the PQ-REACT team directly via the provided email. Positioned as a segment of Horizon Europe’s funding avenues, this initiative is tailored to bolster the digital transformation landscape in Europe by spearheading advancements in quantum technologies, fortifying digital security measures, and propelling innovation across critical domains.

Overall, the PQ-REACT Project’s second Open Call, IMPLEMENT, stands as a beacon for quantum innovators to contribute towards fortifying data security in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Through this concerted effort, the project paves the way for pioneering solutions that resonate with the imperatives of data protection and encryption, central to sustaining digital ecosystems in the future.
