CyTwist, a cybersecurity company, has launched its Preemptive Cyber Attack Management Platform (PCAM) to help defenders expose attacks early and accurately, while also creating efficiencies in the security operations center (SOC). The platform aims to make customers more resilient against threats they may currently be unaware of, potentially eliminating the need for certain cybersecurity tools they currently use.
The founders of CyTwist have extensive experience in counterterrorism operations in Israel, where defenders must prevent attackers from carrying out their malicious intent. Drawing on this experience, the company has developed a new approach to handling data and intelligence, which has been successful in identifying and thwarting attacks. Now, CyTwist seeks to apply this methodology to the cyber realm through the PCAM platform.
Traditional cyber-attack detection often resembles law enforcement efforts. It relies on identifying known illegal or malicious events. However, attackers are well aware of these tactics and can effectively use legal actions to execute their attacks. CyTwist’s platform takes a different approach, acting more like an intelligence agency. It combines legitimate actions, known as “living off the land,” with alerts to identify high-probability attack paths. By utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and other techniques, the system can identify progressions of actions that strongly indicate an ongoing attack.
One of the key advantages of the CyTwist platform is its ease of implementation. Customers can start using it within minutes, whether for testing or full deployment. The platform utilizes existing data that customers already collect, connecting to their Extended Detection and Response (XDR) or Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) systems. This means there is no need for extensive system training before CyTwist can start identifying potential attacks.
Danny Wishlitzky, Head of IT and Cybersecurity, CISO, DPO at Proxymity, recently deployed CyTwist’s PCAM platform and shared his positive experience. Wishlitzky stated that CyTwist was easy to deploy and use. Over the past few months, the platform identified two potential live attacks early on, allowing his team to resolve both situations without any harm. Wishlitzky acknowledged that their EDR system did not alert them to these potential attacks, highlighting the value of CyTwist’s platform as an additional tool for guarding their systems.
