In a recent announcement, Salt Security has appointed Michael Porat as Senior Vice President, Corporate and Business Development. Porat’s main responsibility will be to establish partnerships with Salt’s growing number of technology partners and integrate Salt’s API intelligence across various ecosystems. Additionally, he will oversee the management of Salt Security’s channel partner ecosystem, which is expanding globally.
With over 20 years of experience in business development strategy, Porat brings extensive expertise in security, infrastructure software, and SaaS to his new role at Salt Security. Prior to joining Salt, Porat served as SVP of corporate and business development at Vectra.ai, where he played a key role in forming alliances to address critical issues and maximize customer value. He also held the position of VP of strategy and business development at Cohesity, where he led the company’s SaaS transformation initiative, facilitated joint ventures, and led several acquisitions. Porat has also held executive positions at Cisco, including head of corporate development for its data center business, where he played a crucial role in shaping Cisco’s strategy for venture investments and acquisitions.

The program provides Salt channel partners with in-depth technical training on the Salt API Protection Platform and the top API security threats and vulnerabilities, including those outlined in the updated OWASP API Security Top 10 list.
Porat’s appointment follows another recent announcement from Salt Security regarding the launch of their Salt Security Technology Ecosystem Partner (STEP) program. This program focuses on forming partnerships with leading API testing companies to enhance the overall API ecosystem. By integrating Salt’s AI-driven behavioral API insights and API discovery capabilities with other best-of-breed technologies, Salt and its strategic partners aim to provide customers with a comprehensive understanding of their attack surface.
