To lock system apps, users need to follow a simple process of pressing and holding the icon of the app they wish to lock and selecting the “Require Face ID” option from the quick action menu. The same process applies to locking and hiding third-party apps, with the added step of confirming the action to hide them from the Home Screen.
Hiding a third-party app involves moving it to the obscured Hidden folder in the App Library, where it can only be accessed after a Face ID scan. Users can also access hidden apps through the Settings menu. To unlock and unhide apps, users can simply select the “Don’t Require Face ID” option after performing a Face ID scan.
