Interpol nimmt 22.000 IP-Adressen vom Netz

In a coordinated police action, Interpol, along with several private sector partners and law enforcement agencies from 95 Interpol member countries, has once again dealt a significant blow to the cybercrime scene. The international police organization announced that a total of 22,000 systems were taken offline, whose IP addresses were linked to cybercrimes.

Furthermore, 59 servers and 43 other electronic devices such as laptops, mobile phones, and hard drives were seized, as stated in the announcement. The operation also resulted in the arrest of 41 individuals, with investigations ongoing against 65 other suspects.

These investigations are part of an international law enforcement operation called Synergia II, specifically targeting phishing, ransomware, and information theft. Authorities were supported by private sector partners such as Group-IB, Trend Micro, Kaspersky, and Team Cymru. Through their expertise, it was possible to track illegal cyber activities and identify thousands of malicious servers, according to Interpol.
