Ahmed Nabil, a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in various aspects of Information Security and Technology, has established himself as an industry expert in the field of Cyber Defense and Digital Transformation. Holding a multitude of professional certifications from reputable organizations such as Microsoft, CISCO, ISACA, ISC2, PMI, IAPP, CWNP, PECB, CSA, and EC-Council, Ahmed’s expertise is widely recognized in the industry.
Throughout his career, Ahmed has been actively involved in speaking engagements at international conferences such as Microsoft Ignite the Tour, ITCamp Cluj, CISO Africa Summit, GISEC UAE, Egypt CSCAMP, Cyber in Africa, Arab Security Camp, SAYA, SharePoint Saturdays, CloudWeekend, Credence, and Global CISO Forum, among others. He is also a published author, with several articles and a book on M365 Security technologies co-authored with fellow MVPs.
Educationally, Ahmed holds a BS in Electrical and Control Engineering, an MSc in Business Information Technology, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). His academic background, combined with his extensive professional experience, has enabled him to thrive in his roles within the industry.
Currently serving as the Head of Cyber Defense and Security Operations at a leading bank, Ahmed has previously held positions as Corporate Chief Information Security Officer, Regional Security Manager, and Chief Security Architect in various organizations in Egypt, UAE, and the Middle East. His diverse experience spans across different sectors including banks, payment services, utilities, and oil and gas organizations.
Ahmed’s contributions to the industry have not gone unnoticed, as he has been awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Award in Enterprise Security/Cloud and Data Center Management for an impressive 11 consecutive years from 2013 to 2023. In July 2020, he was also honored with the Microsoft Regional Director (RD) award, further solidifying his reputation as a leader in the field.
In addition to his Microsoft accolades, Ahmed has received the MESA CISO 100 Award at the MESA conference in Dubai, recognizing him as one of the top CISO executives in the Middle East. He has also been the recipient of the CISO 50 Award, the EGYPT CISO of the Year Award in 2018, 2021, and 2022, and was a finalist in the EC-COUNCIL CISO awards in 2018 in Atlanta, US. Due to his industry standing and extensive experience, Ahmed was recently selected as a member of the EC-Council CCISO advisory board.
