WiCyS Hosting Fifth Annual Virtual Career Fair Empowering Women in Cybersecurity

The upcoming Virtual Career Fair organized by Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) is set to take place on Wednesday, August 16th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT. This event, which is free for all members, is an essential platform for individuals interested in cybersecurity internships, full-time jobs, those entering the field, or aiming for advanced positions.

Participants of the Virtual Career Fair will have the opportunity to explore various job postings and connect with several renowned companies through one-on-one appointments and live chats at virtual booths. In addition to these features, WiCyS has also introduced a new roadmap that highlights the wide range of roles available from their partners, including internships, entry-level positions, mid-level positions, and senior-level positions.

The primary goal of WiCyS is to recruit, retain, and advance women within the cybersecurity field. To achieve this objective, the organization has partnered with forty strategic partners for the upcoming fair, including eight Tier 1 strategic partners: Akamai Technologies, Cisco, Amazon, Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute, Sandia National Laboratories, Lockheed Martin, Fortinet, and Bloomberg LP.

In preparation for the fair, WiCyS members are advised to update their resumes and profiles on the Job Board++. However, individuals who have not yet become members of WiCyS can easily join and enjoy the benefits of the fair, including skill development training programs, scholarships, grants, and more.

WiCyS, a nonprofit organization with international reach, was founded by Dr. Ambareen Siraj from Tennessee Tech University in 2013 through a National Science Foundation grant. The organization is dedicated to the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women in cybersecurity. Through a variety of opportunities, trainings, events, and resources, WiCyS aims to empower women in this male-dominated field.

The strategic partners of WiCyS play a crucial role in supporting the organization’s mission.
