High profile hacker IntelBroker has been linked to a potential breach of cybersecurity company Zscaler, as per recent reports. IntelBroker, a notorious Serbian threat actor known for offering access to compromised systems on the dark web, claimed in a post on May 8 to have breached Zscaler and was offering access to critical company data.

The breach claims were further supported by a Mastodon user @DarkWebInformer, who stated that Zscaler had indeed been compromised, linking the attack to IntelBroker’s claim. Additionally, cybersecurity news platform BleepingComputer reported that it had seen a screenshot of IntelBroker claiming responsibility for the breach in the Breach Forums shoutbox.

IntelBroker is a well-known figure in the cybercrime community, specializing in initial access brokering and exploiting system vulnerabilities to sell compromised access on the dark web. The threat actor has previously been connected to breaches of high-profile targets such as Space-Eyes, a geospatial intelligence firm serving US government agencies, the Colonial Pipeline, US Federal contractor Acuity, and General Electric.

The rumors of the Zscaler breach began circulating after IntelBroker offered to sell access to a company with a revenue of $1.8 billion, leading to speculation about the potential impact on the cybersecurity firm. Despite the claims and rumors, Zscaler has urged individuals to rely only on official communications from the company for accurate information and updates.

The Breach Forums, where IntelBroker made the claims, is a revived version of the cybercrime site Raid Forums and is frequented by threat actors like IntelBroker and the group CyberNiggers. These individuals specialize in hacking and selling compromised access to various organizations, posing a significant threat to cybersecurity and data protection.

It is essential for companies like Zscaler to remain vigilant and proactive in their cybersecurity measures to prevent breaches and protect sensitive data from falling into the wrong hands. The potential breach linked to IntelBroker serves as a reminder of the constant threat posed by cybercriminals and the importance of robust security protocols in safeguarding against such attacks.

As the situation unfolds, it is crucial for Zscaler and other organizations to assess their security posture and take necessary steps to strengthen their defenses against potential threats. With cybercrime on the rise and threat actors becoming increasingly sophisticated, protecting sensitive information and maintaining the integrity of systems is paramount in today’s interconnected digital world.
