Keeper Security has announced the appointment of Dr. Chase Cunningham to its Public Sector Advisory Board, demonstrating the company’s dedication to zero-trust security. With over 20 years of experience in cyber forensics, Cunningham is widely recognized as a pioneer in zero-trust architecture and market analytics. As the founder of Forrester’s Zero Trust eXtended (ZTX) framework, he has guided numerous organizations in the adoption of zero-trust security.

“Chase has been instrumental in the development of zero-trust frameworks, and we are thrilled to have him on our Public Sector Advisory Board,” said Darren Guccione, CEO and Co-founder of Keeper Security. “The addition of Chase as a new advisor reinforces our vested commitment to protecting the public sector with innovative, next-gen cybersecurity solutions.”

Cunningham’s appointment comes at a crucial time as the US federal government is undertaking a government-wide initiative to modernize its approach to cybersecurity, as mandated by the 2021 President’s Executive Order (EO) 14028. Civilian federal agencies are required to implement zero trust by September 2024, and many organizations are working to prepare for this deadline. Cunningham’s expertise will only serve to strengthen Keeper’s existing Keeper Security Government Cloud (KSGC) solution, which is already FedRAMP and StateRAMP authorized.

“The initiatives the federal government is trying to solve for – cybersecurity, zero trust, national security – are moving targets, especially in the digital space,” said Dr. Cunningham. “Keeper provides innovative FedRAMP and StateRAMP Authorized solutions that empower public sector organizations to achieve their goals.”

Cunningham’s background as the Vice President of Security Market Research at G2, a former Chief Cryptologic Technician for the NSA, and a former Forrester analyst, offers deep technical expertise, numerous certifications, and operational experience in cybersecurity, national security, and zero trust. With a PhD in Computer and Information Systems Security and Information Assurance, a Master’s in Information Security, and a Bachelor of Applied Science, he is well-equipped to contribute to Keeper Security’s efforts in meeting the shifting cyber demands of the US government.

The broader significance of zero trust in contemporary cybersecurity strategy has been widely acknowledged, with research indicating that zero trust is core to a modern cybersecurity approach. Keeper Security’s commitment to zero trust and the appointment of Dr. Chase Cunningham to its Public Sector Advisory Board reflects the company’s dedication to providing innovative cybersecurity solutions for the public sector. With Chase’s expertise and guidance, Keeper Security is well-positioned to play a key role in the nationwide adoption of zero-trust security. As the US government continues to set the pace toward a future of zero trust, Keeper Security and its Public Sector Advisory Board are at the forefront of this critical transition.
