A hacking group that previously targeted former US President Donald Trump has set its sights on Elon Musk, as reported by Newsweek. The group, identified as DonRoad Team, has announced plans to launch a series of cyberattacks on websites associated with the billionaire throughout the month of April.

The group made the announcement via the messaging platform Telegram on Monday evening, declaring their intention to suspend all websites linked to Elon Musk’s companies for a full month. This move comes after DonRoad Team claimed responsibility for taking down websites belonging to The Trump Organization and compromising email servers of Tesla and SpaceX in March, causing temporary outages on a global scale.

Elon Musk, who currently heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) within the Trump administration, has been facing increasing scrutiny in recent months despite still enjoying strong public support. Recent polls have indicated a decline in approval ratings for Musk, with his companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, and X coming under fire from critics.

This latest cyber threat against Musk follows a series of digital disruptions aimed at platforms under his leadership. In March, the social media platform X experienced three major service outages following a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, a tactic used to overwhelm a network with traffic until it crashes. The attack was attributed to another hacking group called Dark Storm Team.

In a separate incident in February, hackers breached the official website of the Department of Government Efficiency, mocking Musk and his team by altering the homepage with a message calling the site a joke and taunting the department for poor security practices.

As the cyber warfare between hacking groups and high-profile individuals escalates, the focus is now on how Musk and his team will respond to the threats posed by DonRoad Team and others. The increasing frequency of attacks on Musk’s ventures raises concerns about the security measures in place to protect sensitive information and online infrastructure.

The battle in the digital realm reflects larger tensions and power struggles playing out in the modern world, where individuals and groups with malicious intent seek to disrupt the operations of influential figures like Musk. As technology continues to evolve and cyber threats become more sophisticated, the need for constant vigilance and robust cybersecurity defenses is highlighted.

Despite the challenges posed by cyberattacks, Elon Musk and his companies have shown resilience in the face of adversity, demonstrating a willingness to adapt and strengthen their defenses against future threats. The ongoing saga of hacking attempts against high-profile targets serves as a reminder of the vulnerability of online systems and the importance of proactive cybersecurity measures to safeguard against potential breaches and disruptions.
