CyCognito, a leading cybersecurity company, recently announced significant upgrades to its CyCognito Automated Security Testing (AST) product, designed to enhance security testing for AWS cloud environments. These enhancements aim to streamline the configuration of automated testing, improve data exposure detection, and empower pentesters and red teams with automated reconnaissance and issue prioritization.

The CyCognito AST product plays a crucial role in helping organizations identify and address security vulnerabilities across network infrastructure, web applications, and cloud environments. Despite the increasing frequency of web application updates, many organizations still lack adequate testing protocols, leaving a significant portion of their attack surface vulnerable to cyber threats.

By automating the discovery and validation of security issues that typically require manual effort, CyCognito helps organizations reduce external testing costs and enhance security efficiency. With a focus on comprehensive, continuous security testing for all exposed systems, CyCognito addresses critical gaps in security testing protocols.

Ansh Patnaik, the Chief Product Officer at CyCognito, emphasized the importance of understanding threats and taking proactive steps towards prevention in today’s cybersecurity landscape. He highlighted the need for removing coverage, accuracy, and frequency gaps left by traditional security testing tools, underscoring the company’s commitment to expanding its automated testing capabilities.

The latest features introduced by CyCognito include support for AWS Organizations, expanded data exposure detection, improved workflows for pentesters and red teams, and enhanced automations for faster response times. These features aim to streamline testing processes, improve data security, and enable security teams to respond more effectively to incidents.

In addition to the new features, CyCognito’s proven efficiency was showcased in a recent proof of value assessment at Forbes Global 2,000 companies. During the assessment, CyCognito successfully uncovered numerous previously unknown vulnerabilities and security gaps, highlighting the platform’s effectiveness in identifying risks. Compared to traditional methods such as bug bounties, CyCognito’s automated discovery and testing capabilities have the potential to save organizations millions of dollars spent on pentesting and bug bounty programs, while providing equivalent or better security.

CyCognito’s global network, which spans over 60,000 nodes across 100 countries, leverages a proprietary multi-pass, multi-engine architecture to deliver comprehensive testing. By integrating asset inventory and context from CyCognito Attack Surface Management (ASM), CyCognito AST ensures high-fidelity results with minimal noise, covering over 35 test categories including vulnerability assessment, DAST, and black-box penetration testing.

Many IT security teams face challenges in conducting thorough testing of their external attack surface. CyCognito’s Security Testing Gap Calculator provides organizations with valuable insights to identify and address these gaps, offering customized recommendations to strengthen their security posture.

Overall, CyCognito’s continued innovation in automated security testing underscores its commitment to helping organizations proactively identify and address security vulnerabilities, ultimately enhancing their overall cybersecurity posture in an ever-evolving threat landscape.
